The Development Stages of Hair locking are: Phase I: Pre-lock Stage Phase II: Sprouting Stage- little bulbs/knots form at the middle or ends of the coiled unit. Phase III: Growing Stage-hair strands adhere to one another. Phase IV: Maturation Stage-lock is not totally closed, hair has a tighter, rope-like look except where there is new growth at the base.
